Instant Technology
Rona Borre is founder and President of Instant Technology, an information technology (IT) staffing and recruiting company which fills contract, contract for hire and permanent positions. Rona founded Instant Technology in 2001, building on her experience as a top sales representative in a large global staffing company and her desire to build her own company based on relationships. In its first five years the company has consistently doubled in total revenue and net income. Instant Technology has also grown from a two woman operation in Rona’s basement to having over 30 employees. In January 2009, Instant Technology opened a second branch in Washington DC.
For Instant Technology a successful match is both about filling the job position requirements and finding someone who is a good fit into the company’s culture. Instant Technology believes in a personalized approach which individually considers the needs of each opportunity. Rona applies this perspective both externally with clients and internally with her own staff, and in July 2009, Instant Technology was recognized by the National Association for Business Resources as one of Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For. Employees describe Instant Technology as a workplace which upholds the motto “everyone impacts the business” and values communication and teambuilding.
In 2008, Instant Technology became nationally certified through the WBDC as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE), adding to its city and state level certifications. “Our WBE certification helped us to be chosen as one of the diversity tier vendors on a RFP put out by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. That relationship has since continued and grown, and BCBS is now one of our largest clients,” says Rona. Rona has also met with the WBDC Procurement Technical Assistance Center Director as Instant Technology positions itself for future growth by expanding into government contracting.
